Hey everyone,
I found out the site was broken, some people didn't think twice about converting database names to lowercase.
Boohoo, but I've fixed things, and am back!
I'm creating my own webbased games on and off, it's great to do! I will post some of them as they mature into a presentable state.
Other than that, 2007 has been an interesting year. I broke up with my girlfriend, played less and less games (shame!), switched to Ubuntu (cool!) and.. did some other things too!

My entry for the planetquake etqw wallpaper contest.

Over the past days I've been playing a little bit of Quake 4. So far I like it, contrary to what I expected it's not terrible. The design is quite good; you can see where that huge budget went, a lot of detail in the leveldesign and some very quality stuff.
I can't shake the feeling of Elite Force I have when playing these levels. Also, it's like they wanted to take the successful features of great WW2 shooters such as Call of Duty and Medal of Honor and bring them to an Earth vs. Strogg futuristic setting. So far it looks like they're succeeding to quite a degree.
- FEAR
Hmm, I played the demo. I loved the graphics. I also got genuinely spooked by the little girl giggling and running around appearing (and disappearing, she does that as well). I think I'll pick it up once I have some more money. (Do you like my hat? It's made of money! I love PA :))
- Event Horizon
However, I digress. As none of you probably know, ha ha, I've been working on a single-player Doom3 map based upon the spaceship taking the title role in the movie Event Horizon.
It's a cool level, and after some on-and-off development (has it ever been another way?), I've got the feeling it's coming together nicely now with the last area almost finished.
There's still a ton of work to do though; I still need to get to know about scripting. Very exciting times.
Come to think of it, it's going to be more of a Prologue level, than an action packed world of mayhem.
- Lost Marine Redux
As excited as I was, the Lost Marine mod that was released this summer was kind of a disappointment. Of course I know it's not easy to make a total conversion while trying to recreate (and surpass) such a successful game as Quake 2 was.
It's a wet dream to have such a great game recreated using today's technology, but maybe more should be expected from Quake 2 engine mods. Those can gradually replace the original content instead of having to replace everything from scratch.
- Jesus, the HL2 engine looks like crap
One more thing, before I resign for the night:
Jesus Christ, the HL2 engine looks like crap!
I mean, just look at these crappy Sin Episodes screenshots. I have nothing against Ritual, and it's great that they found a way to get the game they wanted to make published, but they've really taken a huge step back in terms of tech.
